While I love listening to music I already know and love, sometimes it’s too easy to stay tuned in and aware while it’s playing. For that reason, I suggest using music that’s either foreign to you or live and unpredictable to lean in on the spa experience. My husband recently learned to play piano, and now I like to take my baths while he practices. It makes me feel close to him despite having my alone time and space, it’s relaxing whether he’s playing Claire de Lune or practicing his scales. And it is unpredictable.
The piano is in the front room, about thirteen steps and a closed door away from my bath, so it’s also nice to be remote from the music.
