WHAT IS A HOT TUB? AND HOW DOES IT WORK ?

If you have never experienced the wonderful sensation of relaxing in a hot tub or spa then you owe it to yourself to give warm water jet massage therapy a try, here at Aqua Spas we can make this happen, and you can try it out before you buy.

Here’s a basic principle on how the various components of a portable hot tub combine, to create a luxurious experience.

Shell

The hot tub surface, or shell, is typically made of acrylic or another weather and chemical resistant thermoplastic. The shell is reinforced and supported with a comnination of fibreglass backing and high density polyurethane foam, which enables the hot tub to withstand the weight of the water, bathers and any accessories.

Cabinet

Hot tubs were traditionally made out of wood, modern hot tubs are now made out of weather resistant polymer, making them easy to maintain. Hot tubs are fully self contained appliances incorporating all the necessary plumbing, pumps, heaters, etc.

Pumps 

Pumps are used in hot tubs to provide two functions; hydrotherapy and to filter the water. Hot tubscan have one or more pumps to provide thes functions. Powerfull efficent pumps are used to force a large volume of water through jet nozzles to provide the hydrotherapy massaging effect.

Jets

The water jets provide the massaging therapy in the hot tub spa creating bubbles that caressing your body alleviating joint pain and muscle soreness.

Heater

Heaters are incorprated to maintain the perfect temperature in the hot tub spa, electronically controlled for maximum effiency.

Digital Control Pad

The digital control pad allows you to change the water temperature from inside or outside the hot tub. The ideal temperature in a hot tub is 37 degrees Celsius and the water should never exceed 40 degrees Celsius.

Sanitation System

The hot tub’s pump and filtration system plays a role in keeping the water clean and clear, as do the chemicals that are added on a routine basis.
